Top 3 reasons a cloud master plan and strategy is essential

azure_blueprint_roadmap_long_termMany Australian customers lift and shift infrastructure to the cloud without the architecture and governance framework they need to accurately align platforms like Microsoft Azure and their capabilities with their unique business goals. Our team has worked with several organisations to get them to the cloud with a long-term strategic solution built from the ground-up with their current infrastructure pains and target objectives in mind.

Here’s the 3 top reasons a cloud strategy is essential before you migrate or adopt Azure - and how our Azure MasterPlan solution can potentially help you build the foundations for your cloud roadmap and strategy.

Security of the cloud vs in the cloud

cloud_security_protects_our_data_if_you_pull_your_weightThrough 2022, at least 95% of cloud security failures will be on the fault of the organisation - but only if we don't do our part in following best practices. It’s important to acknowledge shared accountability of our own data protection and security in the cloud and proactively take action to improve it - whether it be with better trained staff, or a a deeper examination of underutilised tools available - to avoid becoming another data breach statistic due to misconfiguration or oversight. Is your business prepared and aware of the cloud shared responsibility manner? We explain how cloud security protects our data - if we pull our weight.

The important role of identity management in cloud security

why_cloud_identity_management_is_as_important_as_cloud_securityWhen it comes to the cloud and data protection, identity and security is the crux of how you safeguard your hybrid or cloud-first environment - and Xello lives and breathes both. Planning your migration to the cloud is never complete without your business becoming familiar with the powerful identity management and security measures the platform offers to safeguard your new highly scalable environment.

Discover why cloud identity is as important as cloud security in this month's latest guide from our resident consultants.

Moving from SCOM to Azure Monitor: What's the difference?

azure_monitor_vs_scom_whats_the_differenceAmidst the rapid rise in digital transformation and uptake of the cloud persists two leading solutions for end-to-end infrastructure monitoring: Azure Monitor and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), both offerings from Microsoft, and both excelling in different areas of operational monitoring.

Monitoring is a key part of optimising our IT resources. When applications stop performing, databases get corrupted, and servers start crashing, it’s vital for all organisations to be one step ahead and have a way to proactively track and notify the business on issues - whether it’s in the code or infrastructure - and address them before they happen. Find out more about both SCOM and Azure Monitor's benefits and key differences in our latest in-depth comparison article.
