Xello talks about Security, specifically Identity, day-in and day-out with our customers across all industries, so it’s somewhat simple to fall into the common organisational habit of seemingly endless talk and planning. But in reality, identity is simple.
Xello branched out into the Identity space because we saw a true business need, as organisations struggling to provide a level of monitoring and fundamental governance across a growing number of identities in the workplace. In the days before identity governance was born, business used more manual processes, like spreadsheets. Even today, some organisations are still using these out-dated, legacy systems and hands-on process, leaving gaping holes in their overall security posture and having to accept significant business inefficiency in the process.
While our Identity Partners like Microsoft and SailPoint have continued to evolve over the years to meet the needs of customers and the changing business environment, Xello's focus on Identity has never altered. It is our belief that identity is power within IT teams. And as we continually discuss with our customers, identity is critical to their success as they embrace new remote and digital transformations, with all that it entails, whether they’re encountering the changing landscape of users or the explosion of applications and data across employees across the globe.
A single constant that remains across all of these changes is Identity. And that’s why we firmly believe that Identity must be managed by mature systems of record for organisations today. There is also a common misunderstanding that IDAM platforms can fulfill this role. But while access management provides much-needed automation and improved productivity for the workplace, it’s singularly not enough when it comes to securing users, who have largely become the new enterprise security perimeter in this new remote-first way of working. Identity governance drives efficiency and optimisation but importantly, identity governance addresses risk, security and compliance, allowing already stretched IT teams to manage and govern users’ access to all applications and data, placing appropriate policies in position as they shift across the organisation.
With the complexity of modern IT environments, identity is the only tether tying a user to their different devices, applications, data and activity within the a business. If IT teams can have improved visibility and control over the identities in their organisations – including their access to applications and data – through a detailed modern identity governance strategy, they’re well on their way to uplifting their security posture.
Identity governance is the only way to address today’s increasingly complex IT environment, providing the visibility and security organisations need when dealing with, more workplace users than ever before, thousands of on-premises, cloud and SaaS applications, and mission-critical data that is increasingly being shared, stored, and accessed outside of structured systems in tools like SharePoint, Box and DropBox.
Xello's goal, with its associated market-leading Identity Partners, is for identity to be the single source of truth for customers today, making sure they have visibility and control over all of these important factors. It has absolutely become a executive-level and boardroom priority today. As the importance of identity increases in organisations, Xello's approach will remain the same. We’re here to continually drive innovation in identity so our customers can efficiently and securely manage their digital identities and embrace a remote-first, digital first strategy with confidence.
